So you’ve been pretty active in your Internet Marketing campaigns on Twitter lately, tweeted anywhere between 5 and 100 times a day, have over 1,000 followers, get between 20-30% of your tweets to be clicked on, but have yet to see any “conversions” at all (e.g. Optins, sales, LIKEs, etc.)?

If this sounds like what you’re experiencing at the moment, then you may be missing a few, extremely crucial tactics in your Twitter marketing arsenal.

Times have changed, simply getting your message out there and nothing more is not at all effective in the Internet Marketing world anymore. Social networks like Twitter are overly saturated with too many people tweeting about too many things, with too many different subjects, all day long.

The sheer volume of Twitter users seems like a massive world of opportunity but if you haven’t actually made the effort to establish a relationship with even a small fraction of these millions of people, then you are going to get nowhere no matter how many times you tweet your message across to them. They simply won’t give a damn, straight up.

The Internet Marketing industry has evolved into a community over the years.

Any community is formed on the basis of relationships. 1. Visit http://search.twitter.com/ and run a keyword search for tweets in your “niche” or area of interest. For example, I regularly search for keyword like “facebook ad optimization” or “niche marketing”.

Doing this will show you tweets that are relevant to your search term, and with them you will see the screen names of the people who’ve posted them (clearly in your niche if they’re tweeting about it).

2. Select 10-20 tweets you think are great, and retweet them. Make sure you’ve made a note of the screen names they came from.

3. Next, “mention” them on Twitter by tweeting something like “@asksatch: dude, your tweets are awesome! So what in niche marketing are you working on these days?”

Doing this will ensure that the person who’s screen name you mentioned in your tweet, sees your tweet (people love mentions, and are willing to reciprocate the gesture more than 50% of the time – based on extensive testing)

Having more than 50% of the people you mention in this manner not only means that they may retweet your tweets in future, but also that they may mention you in future tweets and follow you as well.

3. Track the users you mention to see if they’re even acknowledging your mentions. Weed out non-responsive people and keep those who mentioned, retweeted or followed you atleast once.

4. Rinse & Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3, anywhere between two to five times a day.

Seems like a tedious process right?

Well, you’re definitely not alone. And you’re not alone because you’ve just fallen into the same queue of people every serious Internet Entrepreneur should avoid like the plague: The queue of just “action takers” and not “smart action takers”.

Prospects visiting a sales or squeeze page don’t have the patience nor the time to read through a 10 page sales letter. There is a much higher probability of prospects reading a printed version of the same sales letter if they receive it in the mail, not email. It’s just how things work. The average time anyone spends on a web page that has just text these days can vary between 2 seconds and 2 minutes. That’s never enough to read a long sales letter.

If you’re one of those people who’ve been employing the use of long-form sales letters on your landing pages and been wondering why your response rates are so low, you should seriously re-evaluate your home based internet marketing strategy and switch to video sales letters.

Making video sales letters is a lot more approachable for people surfing a web page. You can condense your entire long form sales letter into a series of short bullet points and make a powerpoint presentation out of it. Once you’re done writing up the powerpoint slides, which should take you roughly 30 seconds per slide to produce say a 10-slide presentation, you can record a voice narration of the same slides over them and convert it into a video using a popular video creation software like Camtasia.

So why not save their time by giving them a highly condensed version of what your sales letter would look like on 10 pages, and save yourself the loss of yet another potential buyer who lost interest purely due to the fact that the sales letter was getting a bit boring to read.

Start using video sales letters today. Make them short, descriptive to the extent that they highlight the most important points from your sales letter, and stick your video on a landing page with a signup form and a lead magnet (e.g. a Free Report or Free Video) to encourage your prospects to at least give you their contact details (name and email address) in exchange for the freebie you are giving them for having visited your page.

Video sales letters are one of the most powerful tools you can have in your home based internet marketing arsenal. There are many free video creation software packages available today, and you can even record your own videos via YouTube now so there really is no excuse to not create video sales letters instead of long form sales letters.

The choice is yours. Stick to long form sales letters and lose many potential buyers who walk away due to sheer loss of patience, or capture more leads than you ever did before using short, catchy video sales letters and boost your leads, sales and ultimately your profits.

Having a product to sell, or a list of others’ products as an alternative, is all well and good, but if the Internet Marketer in question doesn’t have a targeted list of subscribers who require products in the same niche market, then it becomes extremely difficult to see even a vague trail leading to success online.

Every Internet Marketer needs to invest time, money and effort at some stage or another, in building a responsive list of prospects in his or her niche market. Learning how to build a list is often overly hyped into being a tedious and near-impossible task, as the “gurus” who make those claims would like to take as much time teaching the ever-so-simple principles required to build lists, in an attempt to justify the cost of their “Coaching” or “Courses” and would fail to do so if their thousand dollar products had only a few sentences worth of useful information enclosed.

It’s all about the human mindset. A high valued product needs a large amount of content in order to appeal to the potential prospect in order to justify its value. This is why most list building “courses” out there announce up front that it will take days and months worth of effort but if the “blueprint” is followed word for word, the desired outcome of building a highly responsive and targeted email list will be achieved.

Though such claims are true to the extent that the desired outcomes will eventually be achieved with hard work and effort, what’s often left out is the fact that it can ACTUALLY take a LOT LESS TIME to achieve such outcomes.

Getting targeted traffic in today’s internet climate is actually very easy, and all the tools, media and advertising avenues are publicly available for anyone and everyone to tap into to build high quality, responsive lists of subscribers.

One of the most popular methods this year in 2010 has been via “Media Buys” or buying Banner Advertisement space on websites in your niche that accept a small fee for placing banner ads linking back to your website(s).

The power of Media Buys is absolutely phenomenal.

In just a few simple steps below, you can easily start getting a surge of highly targeted traffic to build your list:

1. Choose your niche. This is crucial. For the purposes of this example, we will work with “make money online” as our chosen niche market.

2. Go over to Google and search for “make money online”.

3. You will now see the first page of Google results with 10 websites in the Organic Search Results in the middle of the page.

4. Starting with the first website, copy its URL.

5. Go over to QuantCast.com and enter this URL into the search box, then click “View” button.

6. The results will show you statistics such as how many Unique Visitors there are to the site as well as whether the site accepts AD’s or not (on the right where it says “ACCEPTS ADS”)

7. If the site accepts ads, go over to the website and pay for a banner advertisement for 30 days (it’s usually between $50 and $200 per month)

8. You will need to provide the site owner with a Banner Ad in 468×60, 125×125 or 250×250 dimensions or any other dimensions that the site asks, and link it back to “your” Optin page or website URL.

9. Once you have paid and submitted your banner ad, you will almost immediately start getting High Quality, Highly Targeted traffic to your Optin page.

Look at it this way. If the site you are paying to advertise on gets 2,000,000 Unique Visitors per month in your niche, and let’s say even 1% of that traffic visits your site, and then let’s say only 10% of the traffic that visits your site actually converts into Subscribers, that is effectively 2,000 Subscibers from just ONE MONTH’s advertising.

Now you may be thinking: “Oh but I’ll be spending $200.. that’s too expensive” or something similar.

Well, here’s the flipside of the coin:

1. Go to ClickBank.com’s Marketplace and select a Category of products that best fit your niche.

2. Choose the MOST POPULAR product with the Highest “Gravity” in that category. Gravity is a measure of how well a product is selling, so the higher the gravity, the more likely that it will sell.

3. Each sale your traffic generates will give you a Commision of around $30 depending on the product. Click on “Promote”, insert your ClickBank ID and create a “Hoplink”.

4. You can now change the settings on the Banner Ad you’ve paid for and insert your Hoplink as the URL that your paid traffic should go to.

Even if only 1.0% of your traffic (2000 people as described above) buys the product, that’s the equivalent of $30 x 20 = $600.

From one month of advertising for which you paid $200, you have now made $600, and are $400 in Profit!

To earn money online, you must invest money first, otherwise the road is long, time-consuming and very tedious.

Banner Advertising is by far the most effective advertising paradigm out there today. Banner ads are a lot more visible than text ads and the sheer size of the page that they occupy allows them to grab the attention of the visitors on almost all occasions.

One thing to bear in mind before writing your content is getting past the spam blockers; junk filters are quick to block suspicious messages. This is why it’s important to avoid spammer’s language; words and phrases such as ‘FREE!’, ‘Buy now!’, ‘Congratulations’ and ‘Winner!’ should be avoided at all costs. Junk filters are quick to pick-up on this ‘salesy’ jargon and so are the public.

Your subject line is the shortest piece of content you need to write but also the most important; it needs to be intriguing enough to get your email opened but not too pushy to drive people away. Good subject lines will offer to solve a problem, describe a benefit or arouse curiosity; this should lead to a click through to the rest of your content. Using an editorial magazine style often helps when writing the subject line and ellipsis (“) at the end of a sentence always creates a sense on intrigue”

The main bulk of content in your email needs to be specific to your target reader; think about what your target reader would like to hear. Mistakes are often made when emails are written without with target audience in mind; the content is meant to build relationships with potential customers and make them feel like a pal. This part of the email must be concise and stick to the point, you don’t want the reader to lose their trail of thought and you want them to stay focused on one thing and one thing only – your service or product.

The layout of your content needs to be broken up by headlines, captions, bullet points or lists. Sub-heading and captions make text easier to read, and the reader can choose which sections to read at their leisure.

Including a link to your website somewhere in your email is brilliant way to increase traffic to your site and encourage readers to find out more. You could also link to an online form for readers to fill out for more information, keep the form short and sweet, readers don’t want to be spending more than a minute filling it out – you could also include a phone number for the same purposes.

It’s important to track your email once it has been sent; your subscribers will tell you what you are getting right and what you are doing wrong and it’s important to listen to their views. From this, you can improve your email for next time. Don’t be disheartened if your email campaign takes a while to get started, the feedback you receive is essential in making your email a success.

Sometimes the most profound new marketing strategies strike you at first as not new at all. Hey, I knew that already doesn’t disqualify something from dramatically changing your business.

Enter setting expectations. Or even more accurately, NOT not setting expectations.

As I’m sure you’re all aware, one of the most important jobs for any Internet Entrepreneur isbuilding a quality list of prospects.

Below are five steps for building stronger, more powerful lists that will deliver harder and more efficiently for your growing internet based business. With a stronger, better list, you will gradually (and sometimes on a gallop) see an increase in targeted traffic flow to your site, leading to both subscriber conversions and profits from sales.

However, subscriber conversions and sales don’t come easy, and over the next few email advisories, I will be highlighting many strategies you can use to get these as swiftly and efficiently as possible.

So let’s begin:

1. The first thing to understand is that quality is more important than quantity when it comes to list building. While having a larger list may seem to be a great thing, if those people on the list are not likely to purchase your product or service then your list while larger is not effective. Creating a targeted list of customers that have a genuine potential for purchasing from you gives you a stronger foundation for potential sales and increased sales. You have the potential for reaching more potential customers by honing your list.
2. The next concern with list building is keeping it up to date. You need to be constantly aware of contact addresses that are no longer valid. This is not something that you do once and forget about it. Email addresses change; people change jobs, internet service providers or even die. Sending your messages to invalid addresses is a waste of valuable time and energy. Not only that, it doesn’t give a true indicator of your customer base.
3. The third things to consider when building your list are the services and computer programs offered today. Serious list building requires serious effort. Check out the technology and services available for building your list, as well as the professionals and support services that are out there.You may be well served by using one of the services that specializes in list building and autoresponders.
4. Another element to consider in list building is the legality of what you are sending and how you are sending it. In recent years strict laws have been passed against inappropriate emailing. Failure to comply with these regulations and laws can and will result in stiff fines, penalties and even the loss of your internet site. If you are in doubt as to whether your message is in compliance, it is a good idea to consult with a legal professional to be certain. If in doubt, check it out. Don’t even think about purchasing a list of supposed opt in subscribers, you will very likely get burned. There is no substitute for building your own list!
5. Last but not least, incorporate your list building into your marketing program. Start building your list from the very beginning and don’t stop. Set aside a few minutes every day for list maintenance. Schedule time each week for you major list building tasks. If you can incorporate the list building into the overall schedule of your marketing plan you are less likely to overlook the little things.

Here’s why:

Using Email Lists in email marketing can be an effective way to communicate with your customers, increase sales and improve customer service. You must however be aware that there is a great difference between a mail campaign to leads you find through SEPCON, and SPAM. Unsolicited Bulk Email, or UBE, is Internet mail that is sent to a group of recipients who have not requested it. Google has responded to the launch of the new search engine NowRelevant.com by adding a new side bar menu to sort by date and time. Middleton, MA, May 18, 2010 — Within one week of the launching of the new search engine, NowRelevant.com, Google has fired back with a new feature of their own. NowRelevant.com, which is the engine that runs the niche marketing and trend identifying software known as The Internet Time Machine, was introduced to the public for beta testing on May 1, 2010. The Internet Time Machine software is a complex set of cloud computers that monitors worldwide supply and demand curves in search engines and online communities to find new ideas and products that people are talking about and looking for, but can’t find enough suppliers for them.

The Internet advertising arena is massive. Millions of Ads are up on Millions of websites, search engines, content networks, blogs, you name it. Each of these ads is linked to a set of keywords that the concerned advertiser is bidding on to display it online and get traffic to the associated website(s).

As a result, there is very high advertiser competition in nearly every popular or contemporary trending niche online, and bidding on keywords that are not refined and specifically targeted towards a particular audience relevant to your products or services can prove both very expensive as well as ineffective for generating quality traffic to your website(s).

So what can you do to enter the market in the face of fierce competition?

Is it still possible to use Pay Per Click Advertising as a cost-effective means of generating traffic to your website despite there being so many advertisers already active and outbidding your maximum keyword bids?

Is it worth the time and resources to invest in PPC when the cost per click (CPC) on almost every notable keyword combination out there has near-staggering bids already in place?

Can you still invest in popular niches online and get targeted, high quality traffic for cheap?

The answer is: Yes.

But there is some homework to be done before that goal can be achieved. And here’s how.

As a PPC Advertiser you need to first refine what your target audience is on three levels:

Principal Niche:
- This is your target industry as a whole, the category of people on the Internet who you would ideally want to display your ads to. Before embarking on any advertising campaign you must first develop a fair idea of what target industry suits the product(s) you are looking to sell.

New Advertisers make the financially fatal mistake of simply selecting a wide assortment of keywords, placing them in their PPC campaigns, creating weakly structured Text, Image and Banner Ad Units for these keywords and starting the campaign off to run 24 hours a day without any level of optimization of neither Target Audience nor Campaign internals whatsoever.

This very attitude to PPC Advertising, being “in a hurry to sell online once a product has been developed” is what causes new advertisers to exit the market as quickly as they entered it, because the results of such quick and non-calibrated PPC Campaigns are simply put, Very Very Expensive. Cost-per-Click on wide audiences can go up to as much as $2-4 a click with the Advertiser Competition constantly raising their bids on the same keywords to acquire your share of the market exposure.. a phenomenal amount of money to pay for only a single visitor to your website(s).

Secondary Level Audience:
- This is a more specific subset of your Principal Niche, a particular crowd in your target industry who you want to display your ads to. For example, if your Principal Niche is “SEO Optimization”, then your Secondary Level Audience could be “SEO Optimization Experts”, the addition of one extra keyword there manages to refine your target market immensely by narrowing your ad exposure to experts in the field of SEO Optimization and not just everyone in the SEO market.

CORE Audience:
- This is the most refined subset of your Secondary Audience, the crowd who you definitely want for to see your ads on Search Engines and Content Networks based on your selection of contextually relevant keywords, Ad Copy and individual keyword bids.

Your Core Audience is that group of people or consumers who you want to turn into Prospects and eventually Customers who will buy your products and/or services. This is the most important step in refining your final target audience and there are a number of proven strategies that allow you to do this efficiently and cost-effectively.

Having a Core Audience to market your products to allows you to narrow down the scope of your PPC Advertising Campaigns substantially. It changes everything in a campaign, from your choice of keywords, choice of Ad Copy, choice of content on the URLs your ads link to, as well as the choice of products to put up for sale on the target websites, all of the afore-mentioned being purely dependent on the nature and supposed “willingness to purchase” of your target Core Audience.

But how does one determine the “willingness to purchase” of a Prospect or Website Visitor?

There is no one secret formula to successfully turning a visitor into a customer.

The most important step to achieving this is to first make sure that the visitors you are driving to your website through PPC Advertising would be interested (if at all) in the products or services you have on offer.

If a visitor arrives at your website after clicking a PPC Text or Banner Ad you’ve placed on a Search Engine, and your products are not what he or she was looking for, then not only have you wasted a “click”s worth of Advertising Spend, you have also managed to create a campaign that is driving more visitors of the likes of this last not-so-interested one to your website, and it is quite likely that your Profit per Sale will go down, if anyone buys your products at all that is.

To prevent your campaign from reaching out to people who are most likely to NOT buy your products, you need to tailor your choice of keywords to fantastically specific levels.

Keyword Suggestion Tools on the Internet today are very good in that they give you relevant synonyms to your input keywords, but what they can’t do is tailor them to suit your target audience.

These tools provide you with keyword suggestions, along with very useful statistics such as the Average Cost-per-Click associated, Estimated Positions your Ad would be displayed in based on your budget, Estimated Number of Clicks you’re most likely to get based on your Budget, Geo-Targeting and Maximum Bids, etc.

They are extremely useful in analysing your “possible” target industry in the form of keywords, but they are by no means there to do all the work for you.

Keyword Tools do not identify your CORE Audience. They identify your Principal Niche, i.e. the target industry you’d like to deploy your PPC Campaign in.

You as an advertiser need to narrow down the resulting keywords from your own research as well as from freely accessible Keyword Tools, into a CORE Set of Keywords. These keywords will typically include variations of your Principal Niche, as well as very specifically targeted keywords that include Prefix and Suffix inclusions of every day words used by people to narrow down their search for products online. For example, people looking for a popular SEO Solution might search for “best SEO optimization tool”, “best SEO optimization software”, “best free SEO software”, etc.

A quality Prospect (someone who may end up buying your products) will always know what he or she wants to buy. They will always have a “willingness” to buy something.

If you can identify all the CORE benefits of your products to people out there, you will always be able to create a CORE Audience for yourself. Once you’ve identified your CORE Audience, you can then embark on creating a list of PPC keywords most likely to draw in members of your hypothesised CORE Audience.

Remember, you must always opt for a QUALITY VISITOR over ANY Visitor. As an advertiser you must always be out to ensure that your PPC Campaign is drawing only a QUALITY SET of Prospects, who will almost always have a “willingness” to buy what you have on offer.

The more you narrow your prospective audience, the more CORE it gets. A CORE Audience is always more likely to buy than a Principal or Secondary Audience.

Remember to put yourself in the shoes of your potential customer before designing a PPC Campaign. If you don’t know what your potential customer wants from you, you will not be successful in converting any potential customer into a Buying customer.

Whether the iPad will fare as well as the iPhone, we have yet to see. But given Apple’s progress so far, I and another million people wouldn’t be surprised if the iPad breaks records like the iPhone did.

What is amazing is Apple’s impressive stance with the release of the latest “market breakers” :

Android updates and sets, as well as Windows Mobile gadgets this year, Google’s Nexus, the Palm Pre, you name it,

Apple stood and watched.

Apple has come out strong once again with the release of another Technology sweel in the form of the Apple iPad. The UTILITY that the iPhone and iPod Touch bring to the SmartPhone market has been absolutely collossal, Apple standing strong throughout and making Billions in just App Sales commissions, offering brilliant incentives such as the “70% Payout” on all Apps sold through the App Store.

Apple has stood out as an Industry Maker with a class of its own, the “market breakers” coming and going, but not as competitive as the competition created by the sheer brilliance and close attention to detail in Apple’s products.

Apple Developer Accounts are available for a very reasonable £60 a year. All applications released through the App Store have 70% of their value sent to developers. What an amazing business model! Here is a company that knows the value of keeping talent on board. Talent = Creativity = New Business Opportunities = More Revenue = More Product Launches = More Product Releases = The possibilities are Endless.

Well Done to Apple is all a lot of people are saying today, and it goes well deserved.

With the release of the iPad, Apple has added, not only another SmartPhone equivalent to the market to add competition side by side with the iPhone, but has also added another source of revenue for itself and hard-working and creative developers out there.

PPC Advertising is currently the largest and most popular means of advertising on the internet today. Advertisers pay only for the clicks their ads get on Search Engines, Content Networks and other sources of web traffic.

As advantageous as it sounds, having the luxury of paying only for the clicks one gets on their ads, PPC Advertising poses a great set of advantages, but an even larger set of disadvantages to those investing in pay-per-click advertising depending on the way they use it.

If used correctly, with campaigns optimized correctly and efficiently, PPC Advertising can be a highly profitable source of web traffic, at relatively low cost. Advertisers who promote, for example, their paid membership website, promote others’ products through Affiliate Marketing campaigns via PPC, or sell their products through efficient, thoroughly optimized pay-per-click campaigns, see remarkable results in very little time.

That is the beauty of pay-per-click advertising.

There are billions of web pages on the internet today. Of those billions, many hundreds of millions allow for advertisers to place their ads and get a share of the traffic to their websites. With so many sources of traffic, just the sheer thought of how much traffic can convert into prospects, and how many of those prospects can potentially convert into customers later on, is mind-blowing.

But as with everything else in the world, there is no easy, plain and simple way to making full use of pay-per-click advertising. PPC Advertising is a ‘process’ on its own. It requires meticulous levels of keyword research, ad copy optimization and bid management, among the many other procedures that make the plethora that is PPC Campaign Management.

Most importantly, Advertisers need to carefully analyse their potential audience before investing in PPC Advertising.

This is crucial to the success of any pay-per-click campaign.

It takes very little effort on a daily basis to ensure that your PPC Campaign is carefully optimized to suit your target market and target sales. An hour a day of careful research and pay-per-click optimization is a recipe for a beautifully successful campaign that has the potential of bringing in hundreds, thousands, even millions of interested customers to your website and an equal if not more, number of sales.

For starters, the most common mistake every new PPC Advertiser makes is that he or she uses all possible combinations of keywords and keyphrases relevant or not to his or her website content, and enters them all into a PPC Campaign.

Most new advertisers are in a hurry. They have a product they’ve developed, or are looking for a quick way to make money selling their company services, and almost instantly look to PPC Advertising as a means to achieve that.

Yes, it’s quite attractive, the thought of there being a market of hundreds of millions of internet users surfing the web and using search engines on a daily basis who may click on your ads, visit your website as a result and buy whatever it is you have to sell.

But as attractive as that thought is, it takes a bit of effort to get such terrific results.
